Message From the Principal
Dear Frederick Douglass Academy II Families:
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!
On behalf of the staff at Frederick Douglass Academy II, I am happy to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our scholars achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child's education.
School begins Thursday September 7. Enclosed, you will find the school calendar, bell schedule, supply list, and uniform information. Last year we updated our uniform policy that allows students to wear sneakers that are all black. Sneakers or shoes with markings other than black are still prohibited. We ask that parents be supportive of this policy and insure that your child follows accordingly.
We strongly encourage you to attend our Back to School Night on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5:45pm - 7:00pm and check our website www.fda2.net for updated information. There will be light refreshments served. Parents and youth are strongly encouraged to attend.
As partners we share the responsibility of our children's success. We look forward to working with you. Please know that I speak for the entire Frederick Douglass Academy II community of educators and staff when I say we wish you a successful school year.
Once again, welcome!
